A smiling bride and groom enter their wedding reception at Moore and Moore in Fremantle

When a musician (Harry) and a painter (Heidi) plan a wedding, coupled with an adorable meetcute story (Harry and Heidi met on the set of a music video that never saw the light of day) then you know their wedding is going to hit different.

Harry and Heidi both had a rough idea of what they wanted from their wedding. They cared about big heart and energy moments, like sharing funny stories with friends, big hugs, and people in their element when their fave song came on. They wanted to get their wedding portraits done before the ceremony and party. They didn’t want any unnecessary traditions.

What they landed on was an evening winter wedding inside the gallery space of Moore & Moore in Fremantle. They wanted the gallery to feel cosy and a bit moody and then encouraged everyone to dress in colourful cocktail attire to light up the room. The gallery has a real New York Warehouse vibe which they completely leant into, and this meant it really didn’t need decorating – though Heidi’s creative skills meant there were some sweet graphics on entry, and matching merch!

What they didn’t want was to make a big show of the actual wedding bit, so instead of a big show they decided to have an intimate legals only ceremony inside their Fremantle Airbnb before the big Moore and Moore party. Once the ceremony was done, they had a tea ceremony with their parents and then kicked everyone out to have one final private moment reading each other their personal vows (ok I stuck around for a bit, but then left them to actually have a private moment!).

When they entered Moore and Moore all their friends and family were ready and waiting to greet them and congratulate them. Moore and Moore served cocktail food and drinks and then after some mingling and speeches the dance floor began. Eventually Heidi and Harry snuck off back to their Airbnb (conveniently located only a few doors down) to swap into more comfortable wedding attire and sneakers so they could hit the dance floor in style and comfort!
