I'm an eco-friendly, ethical photographer

What does that even mean, you ask?

Basically I believe in caring for the planet and its people, treading lightly and giving back to the community. Generally showing my kids what it means to be a good human because their future is really important to me.

Here are just a few things that I am currently doing (and I am always striving to learn more and do better):

  • My home office is solar powered.

  • I donate monthly to Greenpeace.

  • I make a donation on behalf of each wedding client (more on that below!)

  • I bank with Beyond Bank, a community owned B-Corp bank.

  • I've taken an ethical marketing pledge with The Ethical Move.

  • Whilst my job does necessitate driving, I try to minimise the distance and I have a big focus on local clients.

  • I will provide most of my products digitally.

  • If I send you a package I use Hero Packaging compostable shipping mailers and a NoIssue stamp.

  • When I deliver your USB package I use Sendle, a carbon neutral delivery service and registered B-Corp

  • If I buy gifts for my clients they are generally locally made consumables and come in a custom cardboard box. Everything inside can be consumed (or re-gifted) or recycled.

  • For my graphic design clients, I will always consider the earth’s impact when designing products. For this reason, I will generally suggest recycled or FSC graded uncoated paper stocks.

  • I support local businesses and offer discounts for not-for-profit and local community groups.

  • I am an Eco-Ethical Wedding Ambassador for Less Stuff More Meaning.

What does this mean for you?

To my wedding couples...

I am a huge advocate of low-impact weddings. My service as a photographer doesn’t provide much of an environmental impact aside from travel, but I am dedicated to supporting my couples make environmentally-conscious decisions around their celebration.

Weddings shouldn’t cost the earth. You shouldn’t have to start your marriage in debt, with the environment or your bank!

I've also taken a pledge with the Ethical Move - which means I pledge to use ethical marketing practices with my business. I believe in putting the person before the sale, offering smaller, base rate services so the client does not feel pressured to buy what they don't need, being inclusive to all couples and people, and being clear in my messaging and service offerings.

For every wedding booked with me, I plant a tree with Carbon Neutral's tree planting program.

To my commercial clients...

I am really passionate about working with likeminded business people and entrepreneurs who share my passion for the environment. I honestly do my best work when I’m working with these types of people!
